  • Magnet Sweeps 1st Place at Hydrogen Fuel Cell Challenge

    Union County Magnet High School’s Quick Silver team took top honors at the TransOptions Hydrogen Fuel Cell Model Car Challenge on Wednesday, Dec. 17.

    The Quick Silver Team, made up of Kristianna Elbert, Sarah DiIorio, Yuji Sugimoto and Chris Yang, took first in Speed, Engineering and Craftsmanship. The school's HyDrive team made up of Adel Setoodehnia, Benjamin Liang, Daniel Pattathil and Ethan Cheung took first place in Documentation.  Excerpt from Independent Press article written by Barbara Rybolt (see entire article by clicking here).

  • Newsweek Latest to Recognize Our Schools

    Newsweek is the latest national publication to recognize our schools in terms of educational excellence.  The national ranking published by Newsweek, aim to identify public high schools in the United States that do the best job of preparing students for college and overcome obstacles posed by socioeconomic inequity.  Our Magnet High School was ranked #2 in the nation by Newsweek and all of our schools were ranked in the highest 198 schools in the nation.

  • National rankings for UCVTS Schools

    A number of local, regional and national publications came out with their annual analysis of high schools throughout the United States. Once again, our schools were ranked some of the highest in the county, state and nation. U.S. News and World Report, the Daily Beast, New Jersey Monthly, and the Star Ledger had all of our schools in their rankings. However, the Daily Beast ranking was the highest to date. In fact, all of our schools were ranked in the top 175 in the country.

    Magnet High School was ranked 24th Nationally and 4th in the Northeast Region
    Academy for Allied Health Sciences was ranked 43rd Nationally and 10th in the Northeast Region
    UC Tech High School was ranked 70th Nationally and 21st in the Northeast Region
    Academy for Performing Arts was ranked 89th Nationally
    Academy for Information Technology was ranked 175th Nationally
