Frequently Asked Questions
My child received a non-qualified letter.  Does this apply to all schools?
Yes, the academic qualification minimums are the same for all schools at UCVTS.  If your child received a non-qualified letter, this applies to all schools.

My child has excellent grades.  Can you tell me why she did not qualify?
All requests for academic qualification information must be made in writing to ftadmissions@ucvts.org and must be sent from an e-mail address associated with your child's application.

My child did not receive a non-qualified letter.  Does this mean they have been accepted to UCVTS?
No.  Applicants that do not receive a non-qualified letter have met the minimum academic qualifications in order to be considered for admissions.  Admissions decisions are made based on final admission score and school choice in comparison to other applicants from your town.  Final admissions decision letters will be mailed March 1st.

I was accepted to a school other than my first choice.  Is it possible to be considered for my first choice school?
No.  Admissions decisions are made based on final admission score and school choice in comparison to other applicants from your town.  If you have been admitted to a UCVTS school, that is the only school on campus you are eligible to attend.  We do not allow students to transfer between schools.

Do admission decisions apply to all schools?
Yes.  Admissions decisions are made on a district level and apply to all UCVTS schools.

I was not admitted.  How do I add my name to your wait list?
We do not keep a waiting list.  Should spots become available in a class, we would reach out to the next most highly qualified candidate to discuss that opportunity.  That is a very, very rare circumstance - it has not happened in the last several years and we do not anticipate it happening this year.

I factored out how my child might score based on his grades using the scales provided at the Information Session.  I am surprised he was not admitted.  Can you tell me how he scored?
All requests for admissions score information must be made in writing to ftadmissions@ucvts.org and must be sent from an e-mail address associated with your child's application.

Several of my friends that were admitted to UCVTS are not going.  Are you going to fill those spots?
Our admissions process accounts for students that may decline our offer of admission.  One student choosing not to attend UCVTS does not open one additional spot in our incoming class.   Should spots become available in a class, we would reach out to the next most highly qualified candidate to discuss that opportunity.  That is a very, very rare circumstance - it has not happened in the last several years and we do not anticipate it happening this year.

I was not admitted.  Am I still eligible to apply for the Shared-Time Programs?
Students still interested in attending UCVTS have the opportunity to apply to our share-time programs during their sophomore year of high school.  Programs are for juniors and seniors and allow students to attend their home high school for part of the day and UCCTI for part of the day.
